Synetam and GRDF partners to develop professional natural gas cooking

Synetam, representing out-of-home catering equipment manufacturers, and GRDF, the main distributor of natural gas in France, have established a technical partnership since 2014 aimed at jointly conducting complementary actions for the proper consideration of the specificities of professional cooking equipment operating on natural gas.

Four areas of collaboration have been identified:

  1. Standardization: strengthening the sector’s contribution around three axes of work: the presence of experts in standardization work related to professional cooking, both at the French and European levels; France holding the secretariat of the European Technical Committee; conducting technical tests to make proposals in standardization work.
  2. Maintenance: updating and creating new equipment fact sheets in the Preventive Maintenance Guide co-published by Synetam, GRDF, and CETIM, which has been very successful with over 1,500 copies downloaded within 18 months.
  3. Training: promoting to the sector the training sessions organized by GRDF on the advantages of gas in professional cooking.
  4. Innovation: producing and disseminating editorial content to the sector on natural gas innovations applied to professional kitchens (such as green gases).
