The SYNEG Board, meeting on 18 September 2019 in Paris la Défense, validated the membership of 5 manufacturers in professional laundry equipment area, representing approximately 70% of their market. These companies will run a laundry commission within SYNEG dedicated to their common actions, and will have a permanent representative on the SYNEG Board of Directors to represent the specificities of their business.
The professional laundry companies that are now members of SYNEG are:

  • ALLIANCE LAUNDRY SYSTEMS (bands: PRIMUS – SPEED QUEEN – UNIMAC – IPSO – HUEBSCH)
  • DANUBE
  • FAGOR INDUSTRIAL
  • GIRBAU
  • MIELE

As Jean-Michel SOTO, President of SYNEG, and Philippe LEBOT, CEO of FAGOR INDUSTRIAL and administrator of SYNEG, point out, “the arrival of this profession within SYNEG makes a lot of sense. Companies in the professional kitchen and laundry sector naturally have many connections: designers, distributors, installers, customers and trade fairs are largely common. They also share many technical regulations and standards: machine safety, electrical safety, gas appliance safety, pressure equipment, hygiene, eco-design, treatment of end-of-life equipment, etc. Finally, some members are already present in both businesses, such as FAGOR and MIELE.

Laundry manufacturers were particularly attracted by the many advantages offered by a professional organisation such as SYNEG:

  • They are based on an institution recognised by authorities and organisations of designers, retaillers and users
  • They benefit from an exclusive structure of services reserved for members: legal and technical advice and assistance; sales statistics; production of studies, standards and reference guides; preferential purchasing conditions; common pavilions in international trade fairs…
  • They can exchange and act collectively on subjects specific to their profession, within transparent and legally compliant rules.

It is with enthusiasm that these companies will very soon meeting the Laundry Commission to establish their internal governance rules and work programme for the coming months, starting with the creation of a Statistical Observatory on Laundry Equipment Sales.
